James Gill

I am a Madison Wisconsin based photographer whose work has been published and exhibited widely in the United States.

Among others my photographs have appeared in The New York Times, Christian Science Monitor, The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, The Wisconsin State Journal, The Capitol Times, "People", "Time", "Opera News", "African Arts", and "Wisconsin Trails". The May 2006 issue of "Wisconsin Trails" featured a multi-page presentation of my images of World War ll veterans.

I have received numerous awards for photography from international, national, regional, state, and local organizations including; the Broadcast Design Association, PBS Design and Promotion Awards, Society of Publication Designers, The Madison Advertising Federation, The Wisconsin Professional Communicators and The National Educational Television Association.

I work with a broad range of clients including The University of Wisconsin Foundation, the National Rural Electrical Cooperative Association, the University of Wisconsin System, and I have been the staff photographer for Wisconsin Public Television since 1980.

With twenty-five plus years of experience I am available for both local and national location shoots. In addition I have a 2000 sq ft. studio, which is located near downtown Madison.
